The picture at the left shows a traditional interlayer made from aluminum with a corner made of nylon. The aluminum barrier is cut in four places along the perimeter. The sealant has to produce maximum adhesion for three different materials: aluminum, nylon and glass.

The picture at the right shows a Robover interlayer made of steel with no joints in the corners. This characteristic produces maximum water resistance in the passage of air or argon. The sealant has only to produce maximum adhesion for two materials: steel and glass.
